This 90-hour adjunct seminar fills out the portfolio required for students to sit for the NCBTMB NCETMB exam.  Topics include Western Massage Basics for Shiatsu Therapists, Systems Pathology for Shiatsu Therapists, and Musculoskeletal Pathology for Shiatsu Therapists.

This seminar will provide you with all the western pathology information utilized by western massage therapists, but emphasizes how to treat pathology via Shiatsu and Chinese Medicine pattern diagnosis.

A Western Massage Basics course will teach you the definitions, effects, indications and contraindications of contemporary western massage techniques.

When you take this course in addition to our 625-hour Asian Bodywork Certification program, you will be prepared to sit for the NCBTMB exam, and - upon passing - would therefore meet the requirements for IL state massage licensing, which requires graduation of a state-approved program and successful completion of the NCBTMB exam.

Why take the Massage Diploma Adjunct Training?

Fluency in Western Pathology
These courses will better prepare you to integrate yourself into the allied healthcare field. You will develop increased competency in addressing common orthopedic injuries, and will better understand, from a Western perspective, the commonly encountered systemic pathologies that shiatsu can address.

More Robust Credential

Although our basic 625-hour Shiatsu Certification earns you the legal credential you need to practice in Illinois and many other states, in some states it is still required to hold a massage license in order to practice shiatsu.  Some states also require 700+ hours of training as a minimum qualification for a massage license.  With completion of the 715-hour combination of Shiatsu Certification + Massage Diploma Adjunct Training, you will have the education mandated for legal practice in most U.S. states.
