Dean Scarpinato
Dipl. Ac.
Dean Scarpinato began his bodywork career in 1990 as an extension of his martial arts training. As a student of the secret forms of the Pa Kua and a blended style of Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do and Aikido, he saw his share of sports injuries as a young man. He also saw miraculous healing techniques at the hands of instructors and resolved to one day learn the healing arts.
An artist by nature he spent some years on the road as a songwriter, and in Key West, as chance would have it, connected with the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville. After receiving his certification as a massage therapist, he came back to Chicago to study acupuncture at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, all while owning and operating the Healing Tao Center for Therapeutic Massage.
Today, a licensed Acupuncturist/Oriental Massage Therapist, he is accepting private clients who will benefit from his vast array of technical and intuitive healing techniques.
As an acupuncturist he specializes in musculoskeletal pain and sports injuries, non-surgical facial rejuvenation and gynecological conditions such as endometriosis and infertility. Moreover, he has treated a wide array of disorders ranging from Bell's Palsy, to stroke recovery to depression and addictions. A quick Google search will show the wide range of conditions that acupuncture can treat, and Dean Scarpinato is proficient in most.
