Yoga By Donation

Heaven Meets Earth is teaming up with Zen Shiatsu Chicago to offer a noble experiment, making yoga accessible to students of all income levels.  Classes focus on restorative Kundalini and Hatha Yoga, perfect for all ages and physical conditions.

Yoga is not a luxury, it is a vital practice for the maintenance of health and a balanced life.  The mission of Yoga By Donation is to allow every student to dedicate themselves as fully as physically possible to their yoga practice, removing finances as a potential limitation.

The act of giving is sacred.  Through each donation to the studio, students support the teachers, the studio, and one another.  The per-class suggested donation is $16.   Donations at any level, whether more or less, will support the mission of the studio and help to sustain this vibrant community of active, practicing yoga students.

Scaravelli Yoga

Taught by Claudia Braun-Cole

Tuesdays 8:45-10:00am

The work is designed to bring movement from the breath, allowing the spine to be freed, using gravity to allow ease of movement. We "learn to listen to the body - going with it, not against it - avoiding all effort or strain and centering attention on that very delicate point at the back of your waist. There is a division in the center of our back, where the spine moves simultaneously in two directions: from the waist down towards the legs and feet, pulled by gravity, and from the waist upward through the top of the head." Class moves at a rhythmic pace, allowing students time to work with each asana to become more aware of their own personal rhythm. This work is about reaching inside to find one's own way. Time is given to a moving practice and a breathing practice.

$80 for a 4 week session.  $25 for drop in.
