Scaravelli Yoga

Tuesdays 8:30-9:45am

The work is designed to bring movement from the breath, allowing the spine to be freed, using gravity to allow ease of movement. We "learn to listen to the body - going with it, not against it - avoiding all effort or strain and centering attention on that very delicate point the back of your waist. There is a division in the center of our back, where the spine moves simultaneously in two directions, from the waist down towards the legs and feet, which are pulled by gravity, and from the waist upward through the top of the head." Class moves at a rhythmic pace, allowing students time to work with each asana to become more aware of their own personal rhythm. This work is about reaching inside to find ones own way. Time is given to a moving practice and a breathing practice.

$80 for a 4 week session.  $25 for drop in.

Meridian Touch Effortless Yoga
Taught by Jennifer O'Hara

Wednesday mornings, 9-10am

This is a Japanese-style yoga class based on Shizuto Masunaga’s meridian stretches. Darryl Aiken-Afam has created a gentle and effective form of  Meridian Touch movement that guides you into a deep bodymind awareness. Perfection and performance are not the goal. Enjoyment and letting go are. Relaxing into the poses (laying, sitting and standing), we use the breath to gently stretch the meridians of the body (ki channels) and to quiet the mind. Many postures bring the added benefit of supportive and compassionate touch that the students learn to trade with each other.

Classes are drop-ins and cost $15.
Class cards are available: $125 for 10 classes plus 1 free class.
Student rate card : $99 for 10 classes plus 1 free class.
