A course to develop our holistic understanding of pregnancy, better understand the meridian system in light of the physical and internal changes of pregnancy, and address a variety of common pathologies.
Shiatsu for Pregnancy Part I : Eastern and Western Perspectives on Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a time of dynamic change for a woman and her developing fetus. This course will look at the physiological, emotional and energetic changes that occur during pregnancy from both an Eastern and Western perspective.
Students will gain an understanding of:
- Stages of pregnancy; changes for mother and development of baby
- Changes in energy and flow in the meridians during pregnancy
- Adapting shiatsu technique for the stages of pregnancy
Shiatsu for Pregancy Part 2 : Pathology of Pregnancy and the Female Pelvis

Structurally, a strong and stable pelvis provides the foundation and support in pregnancy. This course will cover structural and energetic pathologies in pregnancy, including treatment protocol and preventive measures.
Students will learn:- Common conditions in pregnancy; causes and treatment
- The female pelvis; the foundation and support for pregnancy
- Exercises and technique to address common conditions and maintain a stable and strong pelvis
Shiatsu for Pregnancy Part 3 : Essence and the Extraordinary Vessels in Pregnancy
Saturday, April 12, 10am-3pm (1 hour break from 12-1)

The Extraordinary Vessels (EV) play and important role in pregnancy by circulating Essence, Ki, and Blood vital to the growth and development of the fetus. This course will explore the difference between Essence and Qi. An introduction to the EV will cover the function and use of these Vessels as a unique approach to shiatsu treatment for pregnancy.
Students will gain an understanding of
- Essence and how it differs from Qi
- The function and role of the Extraordinary Vessels (EV) in pregnancy
- Practical application of EV in treatment for the various stages of pregnancy
