Ethics: Case Management and Treatment Planning

A 3-hour Ethics workshop

How often should I receive work? This seemingly innocent question from a client can be wrought with problems. Has the therapist attended to the client’s best interest, appropriately explained the treatment rationale? Are the client’s best interests aligned with the therapist’s? Does the therapist have the skill set required to treat this client? These questions, when honestly answered, can help a therapist create a treatment plan for a client that helps assist a client on the quest for wellness AND is generated from an ethically solid place. At the end of this course, the therapist will be able to:

• Develop confidence in presenting a long-term treatment plan.
• Negotiate a target outcome that you think can be achieved.
• Set goals for re-evaluation.
• Set commitments to clients such as : I will do everything I can to help you, and if I can't, I'll do my best to find somone who can.

(includes 1 hour of NCBTMB Standard V: Roles and Boundaries)
