Read and Say Chinese Medical Terminology - Correctly!
A Trilogy of Workshops
February 17, March 16, April 13
$135 per part or $360 for 18-hour trilogy
Taught by Lok Kwan Cheng
Each part offers 6 NCBTMB CEs or 6 NCCAOM PDAs
and counts for 6 hours Elective Credit for current students
We will learn how to recognize, pronounce, and even write the Chinese names of some of the most important concepts and acupuncture points.
Why bother?
More than just representing a concept a Chinese character is a picture that tells a story and explains the concept. Learning the story provides a deeper understanding of Chinese medicine. More than just achieving a translation of the names, our goal is to gain an understanding of aspects of Chinese medicine from within the Chinese language.
Why bother saying it correctly?
If naming confers ownership and power then correct naming confers true ownership and power. Besides, it’s just fun to add these Chinese accents to your speech. It’s better to pronounce the names the right way than the wrong way.
Too busy studying Chinese medicine to bother with Chinese?
Language affects thought processes and reflects the way we perceive reality. Learning the Chinese language enables you to understand the importance of relationship and context in Chinese medical thinking.
These three workshops are not in sequence. Feel free to drop in on any of them. There are no prerequisites.
