Tuition: $80

Biomechanics is an investigation into the mechanics of muscles, tissues and bones in regards to human movement.
Understanding the mechanics of our bodies intellectually is the first step, however cultivating a felt sense of those processes allows us to become more elegant and aware in our bodies. This leads to reduced injury, greater ease and efficiency of movement, and increased bodily awareness.
Bringing these qualities into our bodywork practice also enables us the freedom to go beyond mere technique and step into the cultivated finesse of an experienced practitioner. By working in harmony with the unique structure of your body your Ki is then free to deeply listen to the client and focus on subtle energetic shifts.
In this class you will learn and perform pilates and dance based exercises that cover specific actions of major muscle groups and joints that you can use for self care, give as homework to clients, or apply the principles of during a session. We will also be exploring cross patterning, imagery/visualization, breathwork, and somatic release techniques as diverse tools for finding connectivity and awareness in our bodies.
