100 Minute Treatment

My 100 minute session is the most relaxing and healing experience I can deliver. It will be difficult if not impossible to match at any price.

A combination of Acupuncture and Massage, I start by doing about twenty minutes of deep yet gentle massage work on the back. This serves many purposes. I was a Certified Massage Therapist before I was an Acupuncturist, and ran a private massage practice for the three years I was studying acupuncture (1990-1993). My work has received very positive feedback for 15 years now, so the 1st benefit is an excellent massage.

Secondly, it is through working the “Shu Points” that I come to many realizations concerning your individual strengths and weaknesses. Shu Point diagnosis is one of the many methods employed by TCM to gain insight into the patient, usually far beyond what one can communicate in words.

Third, it relaxes you which is a great plus if you have never experienced acupuncture. Despite the fact that the needles are hair thin, pre-sterilized, single use and disposable many misnomers exist in the Western mind due primarily to unfamiliarity with Chinese Medicine. Twenty minutes of my work relaxes you not only physically, but removes the stress of a new experience as you come to realize that you are in good hands. I’ve been doing this a long time. My needle technique is precise and gentle and by the time we insert the first point your hesitancy will be all but gone.

Then, based upon what I learn through listening and palpating as well as other observations we activate some points on your back and legs etc with specially designed acupuncture needles of the highest quality. I leave the room and when I come back 20 minutes later you will be floating in a state of bliss.

Then we turn you over to a supine position and needle a few specific points (based upon your personal presenting pattern). The goal of this part of the treatment is to balance and harmonize the energy or qi after dispersing the stagnation in the 1st part, as well as to employ certain “Antique” or “Classical” points to further alleviate any specific pain or disharmony.

While you are in this supine position I work your neck and shoulders with intuition and expertise. I end with a cranio-sacral polarity hold to balance out the work. To say that you’ll be amazed at how good you feel is an understatement. And that’s just the beginning, as the work takes effect gradually over the next couple of days. Often an hour, a day, even a week later you’ll turn your neck or move your shoulder and notice that your range of motion is greater or what once was painful is now pleasant.

With regular treatments the benefits to your health become more and more permanent. And the best time to start is now. If you’re in great shape we can increase your performance. If age or injury or illness has begun to take its toll we can gradually alleviate symptoms and get to the root of your disharmony. We are not simply masking the symptoms. We are tonifying or reducing as the case requires bringing your body and mind into the homeostatic state in which it heals itself.

We are also healing and rectifying scar tissue and removing “knots” from the fascia which will result not only in greater range of motion and resolution of pain, but also allow nerve impulses and capillary flow to function at greater efficiency. Sleep improves; hunger is regulated as are eliminatory functions. A myriad of disorders from Fibromyalgia to endometriosis and a thousand syndromes in between can be helped or resolved through acupuncture.

I have a 3 year post graduate degree in Chinese Medicine on top of the 6 months it took to become a Massage Therapist. Acupuncture along with music and martial arts/yoga is my art and my passion. The benefits to you will be numerous. You owe it to yourself to experience how good excellent health can feel.
