Accredited by COMTA

Zen Shiatsu Chicago is institutionally and programmatically accredited by COMTA.  The Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation is the only federal-level accreditor that does a comprehensive programmatic review of the content and operations of Massage Therapy and Asian Bodywork programs.

This means that in addition to a detailed review of the institution, finances, instructor qualifications and policies, our program has also been rigorously reviewed to meet the most exacting standards for learning objectives in the massage and bodywork profession.  COMTA has verified that our graduates learn and are assessed on all the educational standards that are vital for success in the field.

The final proof of our program effectiveness can be seen in our graduates' 100% pass rate on the national licensing exam (MBLEx).

Our school is the only program of Asian Bodywork Therapy in the US to hold COMTA accreditation.

In all of Illinois, only three other schools of Massage Therapy hold this designation.

This accreditation status, received in July 2020, will also qualify our school to apply to the federal Department of Education to allow our students to receive federal financial aid in the form of Pell grants and Stafford loans.  That process is ongoing and expected to conclude in late 2020.
